Which kind of help do you need?

1:1 session

A decision that depends on your own situation — pathway choice, a career switch, an offer or a portfolio review.

Common answers

Do I need a degree to start in cybersecurity?

No. Entry roles look for evidence you can do the work: networking and operating-system basics, plus small practical tasks you can explain. A degree helps with some employers, but a clear portfolio of practice tasks matters more at entry level.

Which certification should I do first?

Pick your pathway first, then the certificate. Start with the free foundation lessons; a certificate is worth paying for once you know the role it supports.

Is coding required?

Not for most SOC (security monitoring) or GRC (governance, risk and compliance) entry roles. Reading simple scripts helps; writing code matters more for application security.

Should I start with IT support instead?

Often, yes. If you have no IT or networking exposure, an IT support or networking role is a realistic first step and many security analysts started there.

Do I need paid cloud labs?

No. Every pathway's first tasks use made-up practice data. If you later use a cloud free tier, set a budget alert first — free tiers can still charge.
